Sensory Trails for Visitors

Sensory Trails for visitors

Choose from the Fingertip Trail, Colour Trail or Shape Trail.

Where to find it

Ask a member of the team in the Cathedral Ticket Office and they will help you find the correct trail for your visit.

What will you be doing?

Visitors can choose their preferred trail to suit their interests and sensory needs. A member of the Cathedral Team will be able to show you a clear Sensory Trail Menu with sample pictures of each trail.

The Fingertip Trail focuses on the sense of touch, the Colour Trail is based on the sense of sight and the Shape Trail uses both the senses of sight and touch. Click the links to find more detailed notes on each individual trail, allowing you to prepare for your visit in advance if required.

Everything included in the Sensory Trails is accessible by wheelchair.

How do I join?

Collect a Sensory Trail ring from the Cathedral Team in the Ticket Office for you to use as you explore the Cathedral. Sensory Trails are available at no additional cost to visitors and are available during Cathedral opening hours. Please return your Sensory Trail ring at the end of your visit. For any questions not covered in the notes here or in the attached documents, please contact learning@elycathedral.org for more information.
